动物名称名词巧作动词

兽类称号名词常转类为行词，其含意之一是“捕获”(hunt and catch)。 如：
They fish*** all day *** the river．
The dogs went ratt***g．
但是，兽类全球，抽象纷纭，其性格又千差万别。兽类称号的名词用作行词，或取“形似”，或取“神似”，或“形神皆似”，含意风采多姿，抽象传神，诙谐多趣。现择其要者先容于下：
1. dog：跟踪，跟随
Whe***ver I ***，my ***ttle brother dogs my footsteps．
不论我上哪儿，我的小弟兄老是跟随着我。

2．monkey：耍弄，乱搞
Don’t monkey with my tele***sion．
别乱动我的电视机机。

3．snake：弯曲而行；拖延(地上某物)

4．wolf：风卷残云

5．fish：掏出(某物)；捕捞

6. cra***：伸长颈项看

7. ape：仿效，仿效
Do not ape your betters．
不要效颦。

8．badger(獾)：胶葛，缠住
If you badger him long enough，I’m sure he’ll agree．
假如你总是缠住他，他就会赞成了。

9．pig：(正在污秽处)挤、睡正在一起
