"The ser***ces we will pro***de at the Olymp*** Village will be up *** the standards of pre***ous Ga***s," Deng Yap***g, deputy direc***r of the Olymp*** Village depart***nt of the Beij***g Organiz***g ***mmittee f*** the Ga***s of the XXIX Olympiad, said yesterday.
"We also want *** impress all the residents with the ***llage's Ch***ese characterist***s.
"We want all the athletes and off***ials *** know they are *** the Beij***g Olymp*** Village, and not anywhere else *** the w***ld."
The Olymp*** Village will a***ommodate 16,000 athletes and off***ials dur***g the Ga***s, bef***e ******g on *** be the Paralymp*** Village *** September.
***ver***g about 66 hectares and locat*** just 3 km from the maj*** sp***t***g venues, the ***llage will ***mprise a residential zo***; an ***ternational zo***, with banks, ***ps and cafés; and an operational zo***, f*** transp***t and logist*** faci***ties.
Deng, who is a four-ti*** Olymp*** table tennis champion, said there will be two ma*** cafeterias *** the residential zo*** cater***g *** the dietary ******s of the residents.
The larger of the two will be able *** a***ommodate 5,000 people, while the smaller o*** will pro***de special Ch***ese food and dishes from other ***untries.
Deng said areas f*** w***ship and ***ditation - ***ver***g Buddhism, Christianity, H***duism, Islam and Judaism - will be **ailable *** the residential zo***.
"The areas will ***et all the require***nts set by the International Olymp*** ***mmittee," she said.
